The rest of the series will follow.
The first episode of The Chronicles of the Harekaiian has been released in audiobook from Audible!
The rest of the series will follow.
Meanwhile my hopes of getting Episode Seven out for Christmas have been dashed. My editor has gone to visit family for the holidays. It won't be long though, The Chronicles continue!
Episode Seven is coming along nicely. I'm beginning to think it could be released before Christmas, wouldn't that be fantastic? Much depends on the editor though.
Meanwhile I wanted to tell my blog readers that the combined volume of Episodes 1-5 will be on sale over Christmas! I've organized a countdown deal from the 24th December. Watch this space for details!

With my first experiment in using a Kindle Countdown deal come and gone, it's time I turned my attention to Episode Seven.
I'm expecting this one to be easier than any of the previous episodes, because I have it outlined in my mind. I knew a long time ago what I wanted to do in this installment and the number of unanswered questions I have to resolve is diminishing in the second half of the series.
As before, I'm not going to put a date on the next release because I don't like the feeling of pressure. I'll write it, then I'll release it. Agreed?
In the meantime, please introduce your friends who like time travel to the series! There are a few days left to get Time Shifters for free at Smashwords on their July sale. If you're in Kindle Unlimited, the first five episodes in the combined volume are there to be read for free! I desperately need reviews on Amazon for this collection so if you've been reading the series, please, copy your review over to the collection page on Amazon or if you haven't reviewed before, just say a few words about your experience. I can take criticism, really!
If you haven't read all five episodes, that's okay too. Just review as far as you've read. You can always add more later, but your review on the first episode or two will tell other readers what you think of the series so far.
In the meantime, here's an advance preview of the cover for Episode Seven.

At last, I've finished the first draft of episode six!
Now it's down to the editing process. This shouldn't take more than a few weeks if previous experience is anything to go by. I anticipate the book will be out by the end of June, but don't hold me to that! Some of this is out of my hands.
Meanwhile, the plan to release a paperback with the first five episodes has been moving forward. It's mostly waiting on cover art now. They want to do something different for the combined volume, something that will stand out among the sudden glut of time travel books on the market.
It's been interesting, deciding which issues to resolve and which to save for the next episode. I like to throw something new in each time and to visit some different periods of time or special events. Episode six will hopefully give a flavor of something very different than my readers will have seen before in the series.
By Episode seven, a lot of things have settled down so a new problem will challenge Kallie's abilities. I plan to have some fun in this one, tormenting my poor character in a different way than I have done before. Watch this space!
I've also been putting some thought into how to wrap up the series and now have a plan. I think it was important for me to decide this while I still have a few episodes left. I've already started dropping subtle hints of things to come.
While I'll be sad to see this series finish, there are other projects I would like to have more time to develop and I'm looking forward to working on those. Four more episodes should keep me busy for a while longer, perhaps even most of this year.
Oh and don't assume that a character who appears to be finished with the story is gone forever. There just might be some reappearances to come!
It seems to be moving slowly, but Episode Six is coming along well. I'm on chapter nine now and the remaining chapters have been outlined for major plot points, so it should go easily from now.
Part of the reason it has been going so slow this time is that real life has infringed on my writing time a lot in the past couple of months. Then yesterday I was writing the first part of the chapter and decided I needed to know exactly where Julia has been (I had an idea in mind, but it needed details), so I went off doing research on a plausible location. Found the perfect one, too. No hints yet!
I'm hoping to finish the first draft by the second week of April now. I'll make it worth the wait, promise!
